The article focuses on teething in infants. Some disputable points and probable complications of this physiological process are discussed. Special attention is attributed to the remedies available for management of pathological symptoms accompanying primary tooth eruption process.
In their practice, pediatricians often observes patients with significant disorders in their physical development. In most cases, these changes are related to dwarfism and quite often conditioned by hereditary factors. But special attention should be paid to children with high anthropometric parameters. The article presents a case of own observation of extremely rare combination of tallness and congenital disorders in development – Weaver syndrome in a 16-year-old adolescent.
The article is devoted to the study of actual epidemiological and clinical features of pertussis, analysis of the effectiveness of laboratory diagnosis of pertussis. Possible risk factors, clinical and laboratory predictors of pertussis complicated by pneumonia were presented.
The problem of constipation, known to be regularly encountered in neuropediatrics is covered in the lecture. Contemporary principles of approach to its diagnostics and management in pediatric patients are considered.
Sinus bradycardia is common in children, especially in adolescent period. Tactics of management and treatment of children with bradycardia is defined by presence of cardiovascular pathology, clinical manifestations of the disease, stability and pronouncement of the arrhythmia, efficiency of the drug therapy. If there is a symptom of sick sinus syndrome in a child, we put the question about permanent pacemaker, according to national and international recommendations.
Features of functional state of liver in children with obesity were studied, and its connection with main components of metabolic syndrome was assessed. 483 children with obesity were studied (285 boys and 198 girls) at the age of 6 to 15 years old. The complex study included anamnesis collection, anthropometrics, clinical studies of the blood, biochemical study of the blood serum, study of the lipid spectrum, hormone profile, ultrasonic study of the abdominal cavity organs and retroperitoneal space, CT of the abdominal cavity.
Dysmetabolic nephropathies (crystalluria) are among the most common disorders in pediatrician and pediatric nephrologist practice and are primarily secondary multifactorial. Most often in children, there are oxalate-calcium, urate and phosphate-calcium crystallurias. In their treatment, dietary correction is used; strengthened water and drinking regime; the use of energy-resistant drugs that improve the function of the mitochondria of the tubular epithelium; remedies which reduce the formation of a certain type of crystal. Complex therapy of dysmetabolic nephropathies allows to avoid possible complications.
The effectiveness of renoprotective therapy in children with vesico-ureteric reflux due to chronic kidney disease was evaluated. We performed comparison of clinical and paraclinical data of 40 children aged from 1 to 17 years with vesico-ureteric reflux without reflux nephropathy.
The problems related to urinary incontinence in children and the issues of treatment of urination functional disorders were considered. Bio-psycho-social model of hyperactive urinary bladder, or cause and effect relations of hyperactive urinary bladder in children was developed.
The issues of identification of chronic kidney disease (CKD) at the early stages were studied, necessity of timely and proper nephroprotective therapy was stressed, as well as treatment of the main disease, revealing and control of the complications. Complex management of CKD patients prolongs the time before dialysis and significantly increases life quality of such patients.
The article presents the results of the IL-4, IL-10 and IL-13 serum level study in patients with atopic dermatitis and evaluation of the ratio between the obtained values and the occurrence of the genotypes of the selected polymorphisms in the encoding genes. The results showed higher concentrations of IL-10 and IL-13 in patients with atopic dermatitis. There were no significant changes in serum levels of IL-4 in patients with atopic dermatitis and healthy volunteers.
The review of literature on features and advantages of drugs of digestive enzymes of non-animal origin, i.e., drugs which include vegetative, microbial or fungal enzymes, is presented in the article. Diseases and conditions upon which such drugs are prescribed have been pathogenically substantiated. Digestion violations — the reasons, clinical features, ways of their correction are presented in detail. Special attention is paid to the dietary supplement, which includes not only amilo-, proteo- and lipolytic enzymes, but also cellulose, and lactase, and also phytoadditives which positively influence digestion processes.
Combined application of systemic and topical non-steroid anti-inflammatory preparation (NSAID) was studied, in order to increase efficiency of analgesic therapy, observation with participation of the patients with acute non-specific back and neck pain was performed. Combination of systemic and local NSAID was shown to have an advantage over NSAID monotherapy in the form of faster pain relief at rest and movement, reduction of painful muscular tension, at the same level of safety.
The article analyzes the possibility of identifying a high risk of Falling in elderly patients using geriatric evaluation based on a computer program. According to the results of this study, the correlation between high risk of falling and geriatric syndromes was evaluated. For the first time, a high risk of falling in patients over 65 years old was detected using a computer web application for complex geriatric assessment. Measures have been developed to correct the risk of falling in the elderly and assess their effectiveness.
The approaches to the differential diagnosis of chest pain syndrome for patients admitted to the emergency cardiology department were reviewed. The symptoms which allow to exclude the diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome and diagnose myopericarditis, based on the criteria of the European Society of Cardiology were highlighted.
The urgency of the problem of chronic dermatoses remains one of the most important in modern clinical dermatology and is due to the high prevalence, increase in severe resistant to treatment forms of diseases, frequent development of complications, malignancy, the formation of severe disabling forms, which has a negative impact on the quality of life of patients. Identification and analysis of causal factors, both socio-psychological and medical, allows to determine the nature of priority measures for the management of patients with chronic dermatoses and will be the key to a successful outcome of the therapy. In this article, we analyze medical and social problems of dermatological patients we observe.
