Education:
In 1978, Professor Ragimov graduated from the Dental Faculty of Azerbaijan Medical Institute and completed a one-year internship at Baku City Clinical Hospital No. 1, qualifying as a dental surgeon in 1979. He began independent practice in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan, where he worked until 1981 when he entered targeted postgraduate training at the All-Union Cancer Research Center, Head and Neck Department.
In 1984, Professor Ragimov defended his Candidate of Medical Sciences dissertation on «Melanoma of the Head and Neck Skin» and subsequently worked as a Senior Researcher at the A. Aliyev Azerbaijan Institute of Advanced Medical Training. Later, he completed his Doctor of Medical Sciences dissertation on «The Role and Place of Antioxidant Therapy in Preventing and Treating Purulent-Inflammatory Processes of Facial and Neck Soft Tissues» at the Moscow Medical Academy, Department of Maxillofacial Surgery. In 1992, after defending his doctoral thesis at the Moscow Central Institute of Dentistry, Professor Ragimov became the youngest Doctor of Sciences in the USSR in maxillofacial surgery at that time.
From 1992 to 1993, Professor Ragimov served as Deputy Head of the Humanitarian Policy Department in the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Between 1993 and 1998, he headed the Healthcare and Social Issues Department of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During 1997-2000, Professor Ragimov worked as National Coordinator of the UN Program in Azerbaijan. In 1998, he was appointed Professor at the Department of Surgical Dentistry of the Azerbaijan Medical Institute. In 1999, the Higher Attestation Commission of Azerbaijan awarded Chingiz Ragimov the academic title of Professor.
From 2004 to 2015, Professor Ragimov led the Maxillofacial Surgery Department at Baku City Clinical Hospital No. 1. Since 2007, he has served as Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Azerbaijan Medical University, a position he continues to hold to the present day.

Practicing maxillofacial surgeon. Since 2007, he has served as Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Azerbaijan Medical University.
Professor Ragimov conducts postgraduate training courses for specialists, involving leading international experts from Israel, Turkey, Russia, Iran, Germany, and the USA, including members of the Academy of Osseointegration. He is the author of more than 5 textbooks and 120 scientific publications, including 24 papers indexed in PubMed. Professor Ragimov holds 3 scientific inventions and 5 innovation proposals. Under his supervision, 2 doctoral and 8 candidate dissertations have been successfully defended.
Utilizing virtual planning and mixed reality technologies, Professor Ragimov performs reconstructive surgeries for patients with craniofacial defects resulting from extensive jaw tumours.

Reconstructive surgeries for maxillofacial defects and deformities incorporating microvascular surgery, digital technologies, navigation surgery, and distraction osteogenesis.

Clinical and Scientific Achievements:
Professor Ragimov introduced ground-breaking reconstructive procedures in cranio-maxillofacial surgery to Azerbaijani medicine, becoming the first to implement computer biomodelling technology. He participated in implementing distraction osteogenesis and navigation surgery techniques for treating craniofacial defects and deformities, along with 3D cephalometry for orthognathic surgery applications.
Professor Ragimov utilizes innovative surgical protocols based on real-time computer biomodelling to perform partial mandibular resections with simultaneous dental implant placement in fibula bone for patients with advanced tumour processes, followed by microvascular autograft transplantation to the jaw defect site and immediate prosthetic rehabilitation.
Additionally, Professor Ragimov contributed to developing outpatient general anaesthesia services for dental practice, significantly advancing clinical capabilities in the region.
