Острые респираторные вирусные инфекции — наиболее распространенная причина заболеваний у детей и взрослых. Их клинические симптомы — лихорадка, насморк и кашель — самый частый повод к вызову участковых врачей и скорой помощи, особенно у детей. По современным рекомендациям назначение симптоматических препаратов (муколитиков, отхаркивающих, вазоконстрикторов, антигистаминных препаратов и т. п.) имеет строгие ограничения, особенно у детей до 6–12 лет.

Acute respiratory viral infections is the most common cause of illness in children and adults. Their clinical symptoms are fever, running nose and cough, which is the most common cause for calling out doctors and ambulance, especially in children. According to modern recommendations, prescription of symptomatic drugs (mucolytics, expectorants, vasoconstrictors, antihistamines, etc.) has severe limitations, especially in children 6–12 years.
