<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) is a hydrophilic bile acid, a potent antioxidant, which is currently used as a «panacea» for drug treatment of wide range of hepatic diseases. Pharmacokinetics and action mechanisms of UDCA were shown, as well as UDCA use in different cholestatic diseases. UDCA is widely used in the therapy of different hepatic diseases, and in cholestatic diseases, it is the firstline therapeutic drug. </p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>Гепатология</kwd><kwd>Защита гепатоцитов</kwd><kwd>Терапия</kwd><kwd>Урсодезоксихолевая кислота</kwd><kwd>Холестатические болезни</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>ursodeoxycholic acid</kwd><kwd>hepatocyte protection</kwd><kwd>cholestatic diseases</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Chen Y.
